Two people hospitalised after collision between two vehicles in Church Brampton

Fire crews, police and ambulance were called to the scene of a two vehicle collision in Church Brampton this morning (April 12).

The smash - between a Ford Fiesta and Suzuki Vitara - happened at 8.58am on Harlestone Road at the junctions of Walkers Lane and Golf Lane. The road was closed both ways and remains shut while emergency services deal with the incident.

A spokesman for the Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "A woman in her 50s was trapped in one of the vehicles and firefighters used holmatro cutting equipment to remove the door and roof.

"She was left in the care of the ambulance service."

Two people were treated by paramedics before being taken to Northampton General Hospital; one of them is suspected to have suffered a broken arm.

Firefighters left the scene at 10.12am but police remain at Walkers Lane to oversee the road closure. Harlestone Road is expected to be closed for a further hour and drivers are advised to avoid the area.
