Two Northamptonshire roads to close for bridge inspections and telecom works
Drivers are being warned about two temporary road closures in West Northamptonshire later this month to allow bridge inspections and telecoms works to be carried out safely.
West Northamptonshire Council has issued temporary traffic regulation orders affecting roads in Weedon Bec and Braunston.
The first closure will affect Bridge Street, Weedon Bec, where traffic will be prohibited from travelling for 50 metres on either side of the railway bridge.
The restriction is needed to allow bridge examinations to take place safely. It is due to come into force on July 5, with the work expected to last for one night.

During the closure, motorists will be diverted via Harmans Way, High Street and the A5.
A second temporary closure will be introduced on Barby Road, Braunston, between Ashby Road and Church Road.
The restriction is required to enable telecoms works to be carried out safely and is scheduled to come into effect on July 8. The road is expected to be closed for one day.
The signed diversion route will take drivers via Church Road, High Street and Ashby Road.
Although both temporary traffic orders remain legally in force for up to 18 months, the restrictions will only be in place while the works are being carried out and when indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.
West Northamptonshire Council said an application could be made to the Secretary of State for Transport to extend either order if required, although the closures are expected to be completed within their stated durations.
