Two days of one train per hour from Northampton to London and Birmingham as industrial action planned
Passengers are urged to check before they travel this weekend, as there will only be train per hour from Northampton to London and Birmingham due to planned industrial action.
Strikes will take place on Friday July 10 and Saturday July 11, with a reduced London Northwestern Railway (LNR) service from Northampton Railway Station, as members of the TSSA trade union take action.
LNR says Friday will see a limited timetable, with no trains after 7pm. A reduced timetable will also be in place on Saturday, with trains starting later than usual. The first LNR services will start from 7am.
TSSA took similar action in May, however members voted to strike again over rest day working payments. The union says the train company and the Department for Transport are “repeatedly failing to fulfil their assurance that an improved rest day working agreement – giving TSSA members parity with other unions – would be secured”.

TSSA General Secretary Maryam Eslamdoust said: “These strikes will go ahead as planned because our members have not been given parity with those in other unions – a perfectly reasonable demand.
“As things stand we face an intolerable situation. Our reps at West Midlands Trains have consulted the membership and they remain determined to proceed with their legitimate action.
“The last round of industrial action caused a significant impact to services and the same will happen this time around. Of course, as ever our union only takes strike action as a last resort, so we hope that our demands can be met in coming days to avoid any more disruption.”
Jonny Wiseman, LNR customer experience director, added: “We are disappointed TSSA has called further unnecessary strike action which is set to cause significant disruption for our customers. We are working hard to reach a resolution to this dispute and urge TSSA to continue talks.
“We are sorry for the inconvenience this will cause our customers and we are doing everything we can to minimise the impact as much as possible.
"Customers are advised to check before they travel by visiting journey planners and our website.”
LNR urges passengers to check journey planners ahead of strike days and is also warning that some disruption to services is expected on the morning of Sunday July 12, due to displacement of trains.
