Police warning to avoid A508 heading into Northampton

Police are advising drivers to avoid the Kingsthorpe area after a multi-vehicle crash caused chaos on the roads around Northampton on Friday morning (March 6).

Northamptonshire Police confirmed a call at 8.50am reported the crash involving three vehicles close to the Harborough Road junction with Boughton Green Road

Queues of around three miles quickly built up on the A508 heading into Northampton with tailbacks reaching Pitsford.

Traffic sensors showed more congestion on Welford Road and Holly Lodge Drive as drivers struggled to find alternative routes into the town centre.
