Schoolboys escape with "minor injuries" in collision with car at busy Northampton junction

Two teenage shoolboys had a lucky escape after a collision with a car at a busy Northampton junction on Thursday morning.

The pair were crossing the road in Kingsthorpe when an orange Vauxhall Mokka X Active turned into Bective Road.

A Norhamptonshire Police spokesman said: "We were received a report on a road traffic collision at the junction of Bective Road and Harborough Road, Northampton at about 8.15am today.

"The collision was between an orange Vauxhall Mokka X Active car and two teenaged boys. The car which had turned into Bective Road from Harborough Road, was travelling at a low speed and came into contact with the boys, causing them to fall over.

"The boys, who were checked at the scene by the ambulance service, sustained minor injuries."
