Queuing traffic and blocked exit slip road on M1 in Northamptonshire after lorry breaks down

An exit slip road on the M1 has been closed after a lorry broke down earlier this afternoon (May 18).

The exit ramp on the M1 southbound at J15A A43 (Towcester / Northampton Services) has been closed after reports of a broken down lorry with a "brake issue", according to Highways England.

The ramp was closed after all lanes were held at around 2pm for around five minutes and there is currently queuing traffic heading up to A43.

Highways England reports that traffic conditions will return to normal at 3pm at the earliest.

Northamptonshire Police have been contacted for comment.
