A Northants Police speed camera van is parked up on the bridge above the A45 near to Billing Aquadrome and Ecton Brook.

Police released a message to speeding motorists when the first lockdown began last year, urging them to slow down and not use the emptier roads irresponsibly.

The police said back in April: "With the volume of traffic at the lowest it has been for years, Northamptonshire Safer Roads Alliance is urging motorists to slow down when driving on our county roads.

"While the majority of people are following the government advice to stay at home and only make essential journeys, others have been using the roads irresponsibly and driving at excessive speeds."

Northants Police has been contacted for an updated comment.
