The road will be shut between 9am and 4pm with traffic diverted via Welford Road and Brampton Lane.

Residents in the area will be allowed access but need to contact Traffic Management officials first on a number which will be signposted.

A spokesman for Northants Highways spokesman said: "To ensure the health and safety of the workforce and the publicm the works will be carried out under a road closure.

"This will allow us to carry out the works more efficiently and minimise disruption to residents.
