Drivers urged to have their say as 40mph zone planned between two villages near Northampton
A new 40mph speed limit is being proposed on a key route between Bugbrooke and Kislingbury - and residents now have until December 31, 2025 to comment.
West Northamptonshire Council has published a draft Traffic Regulation Order that would cap speeds on a section of Kislingbury Road and Bugbrooke Road, covering a 560-metre stretch starting 292 metres east of its junction with Butts Hill Crescent. The authority says the change is designed to improve safety on the well-used rural link road.

The documents, including a full map and the council’s reasons for the proposal, can be viewed online by searching “Traffic Regulation Orders” on the West Northamptonshire Council website. They can also be inspected by appointment at the Kier Highways depot in Brixworth.
Residents and road users can support, object to or comment on the plan by writing to the Traffic Orders Section at Kier Highways, Old Harborough Road, Brixworth, NN6 9BX, or by emailing [email protected], quoting reference P2104.
All feedback must be submitted before the deadline on December 31, 2025.
