Drivers advised to steer clear of A422 as gas leak shuts road between Brackley and Banbury

Drivers have been warned to continue avoiding the main road between Brackley and Banbury Road following a gas leak.

The A422 remains shut both ways between the between Charlton and Thenford turns while engineers fix the problem.

South Northamptonshire District Council say there is no access to the Farthingoe Reuse and Recycling Centre on the A422.

A spokesman said: "The road outside the Recycling Centre is currently closed, so the public can't access the centre."

SGN is a British gas distribution company which manages the network that distributes natural and green gas to 5.9million homes and businesses across Scotland and the south of England.

They have been approached for comment.
