And engineers will be back between the same times next weekend, too.

Diversion signs will direct traffic around three sides of the 'ring road' in both directions but more work being carried out inside the 'ring road' in London Road and South Way will make access to the town centre tougher for those who need it.

Traffic heading towards Daventry from the M1 on the A45 will need to turn right onto High March to rejoin South Way.

A spokesman for Northants Highways partner KeirWSP said: "In addition to the carriageway improvement works we will be reinstating road markings, cleaning gullies and

carrying out any associated works.

"When complete, this will improve the road surface and extend the life of this road.

"The diversion route will be signposed and our team will be on site to help, but please allow extra time for your journey.

"We always plan work to minimise disruption as much as possible and we consider the impact on all network users, which is why this work is being carried out over two weekends."
