Queues of traffic line the streets in Northampton following an emergency road closure to install concrete barriers to a damaged parapet on a bridge over the River Nene.
Northamptonshire Highways today closed the A508 between Cattle Market Road and Old Towcester Road in South Bridge to make repair works to the bridge.
The authority has warned motorists that delays in the area are "likely."
