Two vehicles involved in serious crash at busy Northampton junction

A busy junction in Northampton has been blocked so emergency services can attend to the scene of a serious collision between two vehicles.

The Cock Hotel junction in Kingsthorpe, where the A508 Harborough Road and the A5095 meet, is partially blocked after a major collision this morning.

Eyewitnesses have reported the air ambulance arriving in the last few minutes and police are diverting traffic around the scene.

Northamptonshire Police has reported the accident involved two vehicles though the condition of the drivers is not yet known and it is not known whether there were passengers on board.

It is understood one of the vehicles was a motorbike.

PC Will Corlett tweeted: "Serious X2 vehicle RTC at the Cock Hotel junction. The road will be closed and will cause serious disruption."
