The newly-established family-run B&B wanted to make good use of their beautiful 30 acres of bluebell woods.

David and Donna Bletsoe Brown said: “We wanted to organise a tea party in aid of Marie Curie as there are so many people affected by cancer or a terminal illness, so we wanted to be able to help the local nursing service.

“It went really well as it was a hot summer’s day and lots of people turned up for a cream tea.

“We were thrilled it was a success and it’s really heart-warming to know that our help will help someone at the most poignant time of their life.”

Laura Foy, Community Fundraiser for Northamptonshire at Marie Curie said: “It’s easy to support Marie Curie with a Blooming Great Tea Party and it really is up to you how you decide to join in, whether it’s a garden tea party, a Great British Bake off in the office or a small bake sale with your friends and family.

“Every pound raised will help Marie Curie Nurses care for someone living with a terminal illness locally, as well as supporting their family.”
