Despite the soaring summer temperatures, the launch was filled with energy, excitement and community spirit, giving everyone a glimpse of what promises to be an unforgettable anniversary year.

Founded by local dance professional Andrzej Mialkowski, Strictly Northampton has become one of the county’s best-loved charity events. Over the past 15 years, it has raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for local charities while giving hundreds of people the opportunity to step onto the dance floor, build confidence and create lifelong friendships.

Speaking after the launch, Andrzej said: “Watching so many people come together reminded me why we started this event 15 years ago. Strictly Northampton has never just been about dancing—it’s about bringing our community together, changing lives, creating confidence and raising vital funds for incredible local charities. Seeing how much it has grown makes me incredibly proud.”

This year’s anniversary production will feature a spectacular ‘Dance Movies’ theme, with contestants performing routines inspired by some of the most iconic films ever made. Audiences can look forward to dazzling costumes, stunning choreography and an evening packed with entertainment.

The 2026 event will proudly support three local charities:

  • Northamptonshire Health Charity
  • The Lighthouse Centre
  • Step by Step Dance & Arts Foundation

The organisers have also thanked FurFix, the event’s main sponsor, whose support is helping make this landmark celebration possible.

The charity spectacular will take place at the Royal & Derngate Theatre, Northampton, on Friday 20 November 2026 at 7pm, and tickets are expected to be in high demand.

Organisers are still searching for more male contestants to complete this year’s cast. No previous dance experience is necessary, as all participants receive professional training before taking to the stage.

“If you’ve ever wanted to challenge yourself, learn something completely new and raise money for fantastic local causes, this is your chance,” added Andrzej. “Many contestants arrive with two left feet and leave with lifelong memories, amazing friendships and the confidence to achieve things they never thought possible.”

With preparations now officially underway, excitement is building across Northampton for what promises to be the most glamorous and memorable Strictly Northampton yet.

As the event celebrates its remarkable 15-year journey, one thing is certain—the show continues to prove that when a community comes together through dance, incredible things can happen.
