Sport Relief Mile to take place in Beckets Park in Northampton

The Sport Relief Mile is to take place for the fifth year in Northampton.

The event at Beckets Park, on Sunday, March 20, will raise money for the charities sponsored by Sport Relief and Comic Relief in the UK and abroad.

Setting off from Beckets Park the Mile will work its way around the park and past the marina.

Linda Savage from Northampton Leisure Trust, who is organising the event, said: “The Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile in Northampton is here and it’s your time to walk or run yourself proud. From little ones with their mums and dads, to runners up against the clock there’s something for everyone to make themselves feel proud on this special day.”

Sport Relief is back from Friday to Sunday, March 18 to 20, 2016. Half of all the money raised by the public is in the UK, with the other half used to make a difference in the world’s poorest communities.
