Music and entertainment on the Market Square stage will provide a festive background for shoppers to enjoy while they browse stalls until they close at 4pm.

Santa will be making a special visit to the fair as part of the annual Christmas parade. Setting off from The Deco Theatre at 1pm, Santa will journey down Abington Street to the Market Square, where he will loop around the Frost Fair stalls, before being delivered to the stage, ready for a festive sing-song.

Cabinet member for community engagement and safety, Cllr Anna King, said: “The Christmas programme for this year offers so many fantastic family-friendly activities and treats, and this weekend’s Frost Fair and parade is no exception.

“We hope that visitors take advantage of our free parking offer and head to the Market Square to enjoy some shopping and get into the Christmas spirit.”
