Rubbish left strewn across Church's site after travellers leave Northampton

Police were alerted to the vehicles on the Church’s site in St James on Tuesday after the travellers were discovered on part of the company’s land that formerly belonged to the closed bus depot.

It is understood the travellers gained access to the secured site via Lincoln Road.

The Countywide Traveller Unit (CTU) liaised with the travellers unit and the caravans left the site last night (Wednesday).

A picture of the site taken by a Chronicle & Echo reader this morning (Thursday) has revealed the large amount of rubbish left on the site.
