Robber made tracks when victim confronted him near Northampton Co-op

A would-be robber who pursued a woman on a bike in Northampton, fled when the victim pushed him away.

Northamptonshire Police is appealing for witnesses after he attempted robbery in Fullingdale Road, The Headlands, between 8.45pm and 9.15pm on Saturday, November 19.

As the victim was leaving the Co-op in Bushlands Road, she noticed a man leave at the same time and get on a bike left near the fish and chip shop there.

The woman left on foot and when she was half way down Thirlmere Avenue, the same man approached her and asked for a pound. She refused and the man rode off towards Fullingdale Road.

The victim then turned into Fullingdale Road, when the same man approached her again, shouted at and tried to grab her.

He demanded she hand over her purse, but she managed to push him away and the robber rode off towards Dryland Avenue.

Police have released a CCTV image of a man they believe may have information about the alleged incident.
