Road closures announced for junction near Northamptonshire Police HQ in Northampton
The £2.7million Northamptonshire County Council scheme is intended to help the flow of traffic around the town’s ring-road and to the police HQ site, which is set to become a school.
The council said today that weekend lane restrictions and closures that were scheduled for Friday. January 29 to Monday, February 1 will now take place the following weekend, February 5 to February 8.

Hide Ad-Friday, February 5 (8pm) to Sunday, February 7 (6pm) – westbound carriageway fully closed; eastbound carriageway restricted to one lane.
-Sunday, February 7 (6pm) to Monday, February 8 (6am) – full closure of both carriageways.
-From 6am on Monday, February 8 both carriageways will be open with a 20mph limit in place.
Additionally, throughout the works until April there will be off-peak lane closures between Mondays and Fridays (9.30am and 3.30pm).

Hide AdThese will be introduced depending on requirements, with a 20mph speed limit in place during these times.
Finally, in early April a full road closure will be in place for the final road surfacing and reinstating of road markings. This is set to take place at a weekend, with the exact date still to be confirmed.
After the resurfacing work is completed, work will continue under traffic management until the scheduled completion date in May.
A spokesman for the council said: “As ever with Highways works, dates could change dependent on weather conditions.”
