“They’re starting to freak me out a little bit. My house backs on to that road and every time I look out, they’ve moved! The big gnome was under the Leys Road sign yesterday, staring up at me.”

However, other residents have welcomed the appearance of the gnomes.

Pattishall resident Barbara Reeve said: “I think its quite a nice addition to our village.”

Paul Howard said: “I hope that they don’t get pinched and maybe some more friends might join them.”
