The watch is unusual for the fact that it does not have an hour hand, but instead shows the hour with a mechanical window in the 12 o’clock position. The watch generated world-wide interest, and after competition between bidders on the internet and in the room, sold to a UK buyer.

Another unusual and rare object uncovered by valuers was an early Victorian stoneware gin bottle. Modelled as an old fisher woman holding a bottle, it was inscribed underneath with the name of the manufacturer Frederick Wetherill and dated 1839.

This type of rare and unusual item is known as a reform flask as they often depicted political figures.

The bottle generated a wide amount of interest, eventually selling over the internet for £1,400.
