'˜Rapid and significant improvement' at village pre-school near Northampton

Staff and children at Flore Pre-school are celebrating after making what Ofsted inspectors called '˜rapid and significant improvement'.

The pre-school was graded as outstanding in an Ofsted report published this month, with outstanding grades in all the categories as well.

The grading comes less than 12 months after the pre-school was given a ‘requires improvement’ grade by inspectors.

The report says: “Since the last inspection the leaders and managers have made rapid and significant improvements to ensure children are safeguarded.

“They have implemented clear procedures for the notification of changes to the committee and for seeking the required clearances for committee members.

”The managers and staff team consistently provide high-quality teaching for all children attending. They know the children extremely well, always responding to their interests and planning exciting activities that build on what each child can do.

“This results in children making excellent progress from their individual starting points.”

Later in the report, under the ‘personal development, behaviour and welfare’ heading , it states: “Children have a strong attachment to the staff. They enjoy their genuine interest and this results in lively conversation taking place during all activities.

“Very effective partnership working with the local school means that children are well prepared for moving on when the time comes.”
