West Northamptonshire Council launches ‘Big Conversation’ on future of adult social care

People who use adult social care services, along with carers and family members, are being invited to “help shape the future of support” across West Northamptonshire.

West Northamptonshire Council (WNC) is developing a new Adult Social Care Strategy and has launched a public survey alongside a series of “Big Conversation” events to gather views from residents.

The authority says feedback will help inform how services are designed, delivered and improved, ensuring those with lived experience remain at the heart of decision-making.

Councillor Laura Couse, cabinet member for adult care and public health at WNC, said: “People’s experiences of care and support must shape how we deliver services in the future. We want to hear what is working well, what needs to improve, and what matters most to you.”

Big Conversation events will take place at Broadmead Church, Northampton North and East (NN3 2QY), on June 29 from 10am to noon; the Doddridge Centre, Northampton Central (NN5 5LD), on June 29 from 2pm to 4pm; Duston Community Centre, Northampton South and West (NN5 6DT), on July 1 from 10am to noon; Daventry Leisure Centre, Rural North and West (NN11 4FP), on July 2 from 10am to noon; and The Riverside Centre, Towcester, Rural South and East (NN12 6AU), on July 2 from 2pm to 4pm.

The Adult Social Care survey is open until July 30, 2026.

WNC says support is available for anyone who needs help taking part, including alternative formats, travel assistance and visits to groups in their own settings.

Following the engagement period, the council will publish a report summarising the feedback and explaining how it will shape the new Adult Social Care Strategy.
