A Freedom of Information (FOI) request submitted by Chronicle & Echo to West Northamptonshire Council has revealed the top ten streets with the most fly tipping incidents reported to them in 2022.
As of April 1, 2021, South Northamptonshire Council, Northamptonshire County Council, Northampton Borough Council, and Daventry District Council ceased to exist and formed the new West Northamptonshire Unitary Council.
Fly tipping was previously dealt with by the county’s District and Borough Councils – South Northants, Daventry District and Northampton Borough – but a unified approach has not yet been established since the unitary council was formed.
The information has been provided based on the three former Daventry District, South Northamptonshire and Northampton Borough Councils, and the following data is based on just the Northampton locality.
There have been 21,335 reports of fly tipping to West Northamptonshire Council in the former Northampton Borough Council area between November 1, 2021 and November 1, 2022.
The figure for the former South Northants Council area is 514, and 1,445 for the former Daventry District Council.
