Residents urged to share views on new sites for homes and businesses in West Northamptonshire

Northamptonshire residents are being urged to share their views on potential sites for new homes and businesses in the west of Northamptonshire for the next 30 years.

Daventry District Council, Northampton Borough Council, South Northamptonshire Council and Northamptonshire County Council are working together on the West Northamptonshire Strategic Plan, which will set out the direction of economic and population growth for the area up to the year 2050.

It follows on from the West Northamptonshire Joint Core Strategy which was published five years ago and needs updating.

Colin Staves, principal spatial planner at the West Northamptonshire Joint Planning Unit, said: “The strategic plan will provide a vision for the growth of West Northamptonshire over the next 30 years, and we are keen for residents to get involved at every stage in its development.

“The Strategic Land Availability Assessment is an important element of the Plan and this consultation is an opportunity for people to have a say on the sort of approach it should take. Please share your views with us so they can be taken into account as we move forward.”
