But residents have raised concerns about the environment, risk of flooding, access routes and lack of investment in local amenities.

Cllr Pinder Chauhan said: “I have represented West Hunsbury for ten years, and our residents value their green spaces deeply. These areas have become well developed natural habitats for the wildlife in the area and places of wellbeing for the community.

“I have organised a public meeting for residents, to listen to their concerns and answer questions. I have also extended the session so the ‘Save Our Green Space – Off Ladybridge Drive’ group can present the work they have done in response to the planning consultation.”

The Save Our Green Space group are campaigning against West Northamptonshire Council’s plans to sell an area of green space next to Ladybridge Drive and Teal Close.

They say the land is not suitable, and there are other routes which should be pursued as alternatives. They also say the land is in constant recreational use by the likes of children, dog walkers and families.

The council say the sale of the land would bring in around £1.5million which would be invested into school and community facilities.
