Regeneration plans for Northampton town centre out for further consultation
The town is one of 100 across the country that has been invited to bid for up to £25 million funding through the Government’s Town Fund.
To help secure a share of this funding the Northampton Forward board – the steerholding group made of stakeholders such as Northampton Borough Council, the town’s BID group and the University – is producing a Town Investment Plan which needs to provide a long-term vision for Northampton.

Hide AdThis would identify potential projects that would help improve the town, drive economic regeneration and growth in the short, medium and long term.
And residents are set to be asked which of the schemes should be prioritised as part of a month long public consultation in September.
Projects that have been put forward include a new sustainable residential development on Abington Street, a residential scheme at Greyfriars or a bus and coach interchange on the same site, a heritage park in Marefair and the Four Waterside Gateway development.
Borough council leader Jonathan Nunn said: “This is an exciting time for Northampton as we have a huge potential to deliver re-invention with significant investment opportunities for the town coming forward.

The public consultation will be held between Wednesday September 2 and Sunday September 27. Members of the public can share their views and decide which projects should be prioritised for the Towns Fund Investment Plan at https://survey.websurveycreator.com/s/townsfundconsultation
