Plans lodged for pub extension and cottage works across Northampton and villages
Residents in Northampton and surrounding villages are being invited to comment on a fresh batch of planning applications submitted to West Northamptonshire Council.
Among the proposals affecting the town directly is a retrospective application at 32 Wellingborough Road, Northampton. The plans seek permission for a single-storey rear extension with a retractable roofing system. The work has already been carried out, with the application now submitted for formal approval.
Elsewhere in the borough, householders in Blisworth have lodged two separate applications. At Boxtree Cottage, 39 Stoke Road, plans propose the removal of existing rear extensions, raising the roof, installation of new dormers and the construction of new rear extensions and a porch. A further scheme at 78 High Street, Blisworth, includes a single-storey side extension, garden room and trellis to a boundary wall, partly retrospective, along with a proposed new front boundary wall and sliding access gate.
In Harpole, 5 School Lane is the subject of an application for a single-storey rear extension.

Further afield, listed building consent has been sought for works at 75 High Street, Potterspury. The proposals include a new drive finish, altering a window to form a door, installation of new log burner flues into existing stacks and changes to timber walls on an outbuilding known as the Byre to accommodate metal windows and doors. Internal alterations are also planned, including new log burners, relocating the kitchen and removal of a modern window and door.
In Scaldwell, Studio Cottage, Back Lane, could see the demolition of an existing front boundary wall and erection of a replacement.
Meanwhile, a significant phased development is proposed at Astwell Castle Farm on Falcutt Road, Helmdon. The scheme seeks listed building consent to demolish modern agricultural buildings and convert traditional barns into three dwellings, alongside access realignment, parking, landscaping and related works.
Applications can be viewed online at westnorthants.gov.uk/applications or at council offices. Representations must be made within 21 days of February 19, 2026, excluding bank holidays.
