Planning applications submitted for historic Northampton property and village site

Fresh planning applications affecting both Northampton and a nearby village have been submitted to West Northamptonshire Council.

In Northampton, proposals have been lodged relating to The Old Rectory on Elwes Way. The applications seek both full planning permission and listed building consent to convert a detached garage into a home study, alongside the replacement of the existing roof.

Because the building is listed, separate listed building consent is required in addition to standard planning approval before any work can go ahead.

Elsewhere in the area, an application has been submitted for the erection of two dwellings on land to the rear of 63 High Street in Harpole. The proposal also includes associated access to serve the new homes.

Residents have 21 days from the date of publication, excluding bank and public holidays, to submit representations either online or by post to the council’s planning department at The Guildhall, St Giles Square, Northampton.

The applications can be viewed on the council’s website.

The notice was dated February 12, 2026.
