New flats, park toilets and club conversion among latest Northampton planning bids
A number of new planning applications affecting Northampton have been submitted to West Northamptonshire Council, including proposals for new homes, flat conversions and changes to well-known town centre buildings.
Among the Northampton schemes is an application to convert the St George’s Conservative Club in St Georges Avenue into three one-bedroom ground-floor flats, with office space retained on the first floor. Another town centre proposal involves the Nationwide branch at 41 Drapery, where listed building consent has been sought to replace internal cash machines.
Plans have also been submitted to demolish and rebuild the public toilet block near the ornamental garden in Abington Park, with the new facility relocated elsewhere within the park. In Billing Road, an application has been made for replacement windows and doors at Cadogan House, while a property in High Street, Collingtree, could see an existing garage converted and extended to form a residential annexe.
Outside the town, applications include a major outline scheme for up to 41 homes in Pattishall, alterations to listed buildings in Brixworth, Little Brington and Harpole, and a proposal to change the use of a property in Tiffield to include a hotel and wellness retreat. Elsewhere, new dwellings are proposed in Bugbrooke and Ashton, while employment units are planned on land north of Bell Plantation in Towcester.

Residents can view full details of all applications on the council’s planning portal. Representations can be submitted online or in writing to the planning department at The Guildhall, St Giles Square, Northampton, within 21 days of the notice dated January 15, 2026.
