Hardingstone footpath closure extended as construction works continue
A well-used public footpath in Hardingstone will remain closed for several more months as construction work in the area continues, West Northamptonshire Council has confirmed.
The authority issued a notice stating that the Temporary Closure Order for Public Footpath KN6 — originally made on May 15, 2025 and brought into force on May 29, 2025 — has now been extended by the Secretary of State for Transport. The closure will stay in place until the associated works are complete or until May 29, 2026, whichever comes first.
The council says the extension is necessary on health and safety grounds to allow ongoing construction activity to proceed safely. Private access to land or nearby premises is not affected.
The order, dated November 27, 2025, covers the stretch of Footpath KN6 running from National Grid Reference SP7673 5776, heading southeast for around 1,064 metres to SP7735 5702. An alternative route is available via The Green, The Warren and Newport Pagnell Road, before rejoining the footpath at point B.

Residents can view the official map for the closure on the West Northamptonshire Council website by searching for “Temporary Traffic Regulations Orders.” Anyone seeking further details is advised to contact Tilia Homes on 01217 136300.
