‘We are assessing the situation’, says council as travellers approach one month camped next to busy Northampton road

A group of travellers, comprised of around 10 vehicles in total including vans and caravans, have been parked up on the footpath where Rowtree Road meets Towcester Road in East Hunsbury since the start of May.

Addressing the situation, a spokesperson for West Northants Council (WNC) said: “We are aware of the encampment. Colleagues from the [WNC] Northamptonshire Traveller Unit are assessing the situation in line with established processes. At this stage, it would not be appropriate for the council to comment further.”
