A number of police officers and vehicles were spotted near to a busy Northampton junction last night.

The police presence was seen near to the White Elephant pub on the corner of Kingsley Road and St Matthew’s Parade.

Northamptonshire Police has now confirmed the incident related to a collision on St George’s Avenue.

A police spokeswoman said: “There was an RTC in St George’s Avenue which happened at 5.20pm yesterday and involved two vehicles a VW and a SEAT.

“A man was taken to Northampton General Hospital by ambulance as a precautionary measure with minor injuries.”
