Plan for 210 homes and a public park in Northamptonshire get the go-ahead

The project for the Wood Burcote Court Estate in Towcester, submitted by Jackson Stopps Trustees, was given outline planning permission by South Northamptonshire Council. It will now be subject of a public consultation before a detailed plan is submitted and the final decision is made.

Under the signed Section 106 Agreement, the developers will have to provide almost £2 million towards primary, secondary and sixth form education facilities in the area, almost £400,000 towards improvements in Burcote Road and the town centre, and £210,000 towards public transport enhancements.

The creation and maintenance of a 13-hectare public park, incorporationg mature trees, established parkland and streamside and woodland walks, has also been included.

If the detailed plans are approved following the consultation, work on the development is set to begin towards the end of the year.
