A pair of three-year-old twins from Northampton raised £2,650 to help less-fortunate children get access to education at home by walking 2.6 miles with their parents.

Ethan and Lucas Cooper completed their challenge for Free2Talk, a charity which supports vulnerable families in Northampton, in just under two hours on Wednesday (May 13).

Their mother, Vicki Smith, a nurse at Northampton General Hospital who is on the board for Free2Talk, said the family from Overstone loved it.

"We had socially-distanced surprises with family members and guests along the walk jumping out from behind trees," she said.

"Then neighbours outside their houses and family members with banners welcomed us when we got back after 2.6 miles.

Ethan and Lucas' walk was inspired by the 2.6 challenges people across the country have been taking on after the London Marathon was cancelled.

Vicki said the money they raise will be specifically going towards buying laptops, data and other items needed by children who are not eligible for a grant from the Government.
