As you do! Family of ducks waddle along a corridor inside Northampton General Hospital...but where's the social distancing?!

It appears the social distancing message hasn't quite hit home to everyone yet...

This delightful picture was posted yesterday, Saturday, on Twitter by Matt Metcalfe, who works at Northampton General Hospital. The ducks, who are favourites with patients and staff on site, had got through an open door.

Matt's tongue-in-cheek post read: "Calling NGH infection prevention and control team - urgent assistance required - the hospital ducklings and mum need training on visiting rules, social distancing and PPE. Not sure they gelled their bill either. PS pls also give them map to the canal."

The post attracted a number of comments and retweets including Critical Care NGH, who said: "Our cheeky little hospital ducks made it onto hospital street this morning! Doesn’t look like they took the current infection prevention rules very seriously though!"

Another was very touching and said: "I sat with those ducks while my dad was in hospital they were a sweet brief distraction to my reality."
