Words of wisdom: Northampton care home residents share what advice would they give to the younger generation

'If there was one thing you could say to the younger generation, what would it be?'

Earlier this week, the residents of Northampton's Timken Grange Care Home were asked what one piece of advice would they give to the younger generation - and they did not disappoint.

From their own lifetime of experience, each resident had a secret to share that today's generation should stick to if they want to lead a happier life and make the world a better place.

They ranged from married couple Jack and Irene's advice to "spend your money - don't save it!" to 72-year-old's Tom's straightforward warning - "Don't smoke."

And, from Timken Grange's 102-year-old John are the simple words - "Enjoy every minute."

Timken Grange's lifestyle manager Daniel Worley said: "We saw the idea to do this online and wanted to give residents the chance to share their words of wisdom.

"I think residents can feel out-of-touch with the modern world and the internet. But some of them have lived for over 90 years and a lot has changed during their lifetimes.

"So we asked them, 'if there was one thing they could say to the younger generation, what would it be?'"
