What would make Northampton's parks better? Council wants to hear from you

People are being asked to have their say on parks across Northampton and the wider area as part of a new council survey which could help shape future improvements.

West Northamptonshire Council (WNC) has launched the survey to find out how easy residents find it to access and enjoy parks and green spaces.

The council is seeking responses from people who use parks regularly as well as those who visit only occasionally.

Among the major parks and open spaces in Northampton are Abington Park, the Racecourse, Bradlaugh Fields, Becket's Park, Delapré Park, Eastfield Park, Dallington Park and Hunsbury Hill Country Park.

The survey asks residents about how often they visit parks and green spaces, how they travel to them and whether there are any barriers which make accessing them difficult.

People are also being asked about what would encourage them to visit parks more often and what improvements could make the spaces easier to access and enjoy.

Responses will be used to help WNC understand people's experiences of parks across West Northamptonshire and inform future work and improvements.

The consultation comes as parks and green spaces continue to play an important role in providing places for recreation, exercise and community activities across Northampton and the wider area.

WNC is encouraging responses from a broad range of residents, including those who may not currently make regular use of their local parks.

The council said: “We’re running a short survey about parks across West Northamptonshire, and your feedback can help shape future improvements.

“Whether you visit regularly or just pop by occasionally – we’d still like to hear from you.”

Residents can complete the survey online through the council.
