A TV production company is searching for people who were there to see the time Bob Marley and the Wailers played Northampton nearly 50 years ago.

The legendary reggae artist once played Northampton College of Education as part of The Wailers' Burnin' tour on November 30, 1973.

Now, a TV company is researching a documentary about Bob Marley's time in Britain - and want to hear from Northampton's lucky concertgoers who got to see the show.

An appeal by Leeds-based Wise Owl Films says: "We are producing a new social history documentary about Bob Marley’s time in Britain.

"The producers of the documentary are looking for people who attended the Bob Marley and the Wailers Burnin’ Tour gig at the Northampton College of Education who have stories about attending the gig and would be interested in potentially being filmed sharing their story for the documentary.

"Did you meet Bob Marley? Did you take any photos or footage at the gig? Perhaps you took a photo with Bob Marley himself?"

The 1973 concert was not the only time Bob Marley played Northampton - the young artist also played the "Shades" nightclub in Bridge Street in the early 1970s.
