Wellingborough man jailed after being caught drink driving on A14 on Christmas Day
A Wellingborough man who was already disqualified from driving has been jailed after being caught drink driving on Christmas Day.
46-year-old Tinashe Maenzanise was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison for driving 82mph along the A14 while over the legal alcohol limit.
The incident happened just after midnight on Christmas Day on the A14 near Swavesey, Cambridgeshire.
Maenzanise, of Beech Drive, Wellingborough was caught by officers who matched his speed at 82mph, by which point Maenzanise then slowed to under 50mph behind another marked police vehicle.

PC Matt Panks from the Road Policing Unit said: “Maenzanise chose to drive on Christmas Day despite being disqualified, uninsured and over the legal alcohol limit. His actions were irresponsible and posed a clear risk to other road users.
"We will continue to take robust action against those who ignore driving bans and put lives at risk on our roads.”
Maenzanise failed to provide a breath test at the roadside, however in custody two hours later, he provided a sample of 68 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath, almost twice the legal limit of 35.
Furthermore, checks carried out by police showed he had previously been disqualified from driving for 36 months in March last year.
On January 22 at Northampton Magistrates Court, he was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison and disqualified from driving for three years for driving whilst disqualified, driving without insurance, speeding and drink driving.
