Watch live sheep shearing during half-term fun at Northamptonshire's West Lodge Farm Park
Families are invited to experience life on the farm at West Lodge Farm Park in Desborough as the popular sheep shearing weekend returns from Friday (May 23) to Sunday (May 25).
Visitors will have the chance to watch Farmer Ed and Farmer Ryan shear more than 100 sheep across the weekend, giving families a close-up look at one of the most important jobs in the farming calendar.
Traditional wool spinning and weaving demonstrations will also be taking place, showing how freshly shorn fleece is transformed into wool.
The sheep shearing weekend marks the start of a packed half-term programme at the farm park, with activities running daily throughout the school holidays.
Alongside the sheep shearing and wool spinning demonstrations, families visiting during half-term will also be able to enjoy bottle feeding lambs, daily piglet races, barrel rides, adventure golf, indoor and outdoor play, animal petting sessions and acres of countryside walks.
Farmer Ryan Thompson said: “Half-term is one of the most exciting times of year on the farm.
"Sheep shearing gives families the chance to see real farming in action while also learning what happens to the wool afterwards through our spinning demonstrations.
"Alongside all the usual activities across the farm park, there is something for every age to enjoy.”
The farm park is open daily from 9.30am until 6pm.
Tickets are priced at £13.95 per person, with most activities included in the entry price.
Visitors are encouraged to pre book online, especially over the bank holiday weekend and half-term period, as busy days often sell out in advance.
