A rogue swan has been caught on film by a Northampton walker trying to stick its beak through someone's postbox.

Wendy Howard, from Billing Road, said she sees the swan "pretty regularly" on her walks down to the Northampton Washlands trying to get its beak through this letterbox at someone's home in Selston Walk.

The 63-year-old said: "It happens all the time. We see it pretty regularly. There are several front doors and the swan doesn't always choose the same one! I just think it's hilarious - it must annoy the people at the houses. The person at one of the homes can hear it and see it from his conservatory.

"It's just funny really. I film it every time and send it to my kids because it makes them laugh. I do feel a little bit sorry for the people in the houses, the swans just do it persistently."

Wendy, who said the "cackling laughter" in the video wasn't her, originally posted the footage on Northamptonshire Walks' Facebook page, which is a popular place online for those who enjoy walking in the county.
