Tributes have been paid to a Northamptonshire girl, 9, who died from an allergic reaction while on a family holiday to Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.

Ava-Grace Stevens died on October 28, 2019, after a family dinner in Florida caused her and her brother, Harrison, to have severe reactions to the food. The girl was rushed to hospital but doctors said there was nothing they could do to save her. Her brother survived.

A GoFundMe page was set up in memory of Ava and to help support her parents, Geoffrey and Stephanie, who are both self-employed. The donations page has now closed and the total amount raised was £10,254, which was well over the initial £500 target set.

The GoFundMe page reads: "The family of Ava-Grace Stevens has set this page up, in order to help support Steph, Geoff and Harrison at this difficult time.

"On October 28, 2019, they tragically lost their beautiful little girl Ava-Grace. Ava had a severe anaphylactic reaction whilst on holiday in Orlando. After every effort to save her, they unfortunately had to let their little girl go.

"Ava was an amazing, beautiful, bright and talented little girl who had a zest for life and all things Harry Potter. She was a much loved daughter, sister, granddaughter, great granddaughter, niece, cousin and friend to so many.

"As most of you know, Steph and Geoff are both self-employed and will be unable to work during these next difficult few months. We would like to take some of the financial burden and worry away from them and also to support Ava's much-loved little brother, Harrison, whom she adored.

"We would like to thank everyone that has supported the family. Ava will always remain in our hearts and will be the brightest star. We love you forever princess."

One person wrote on the page: "It’s seems like yesterday your little princess was born. I can still vividly remember the pure love and devotion of your family. Sleep tight beautiful."

Another said: "I had the pleasure of looking after Ava-grace at nursery, she was amazing & always made us smile, I am sending lots of love to Steph, Geoff and Harrison."

One donator said: "Fond memories of Ava-Grace's contributions to our school choir and her enthusiasm for the singing events in which we took part. My thoughts are with you all."
