Shoppers can still support small businesses and the Hope Centre while shopping from the comfort of their own home this year as the Christmas fair goes online for the first time.

The Hope Centre Virtual Christmas Fair will be hosted through a specially built Facebook page, still with variety of venders selling their goodies, from pictures, personalised gifts, festive teddies, baubles, ornaments and more.

Usually the fair is held at the Campbell Street centre but because of coronavirus restrictions it has forced the market to go online where traders can secure a virtual 'stall' for £20, which secures a pitch until December 20.

Hope's events fundraiser, Tanya Haji-Miller, said: “2020 has certainly been a challenge in many ways and, due to COVID, we have had to cancel or alter several of our fundraising events.

"Our annual Christmas fair is usually really popular so this year we have decided to ‘go virtual’ and take it online.

"The response so far has been great. We are up and running and already have several virtual retailers selling their amazing goods and are looking forward to welcoming more.”

The fundraising Christmas fair is there to support small local businesses and crafters during this difficult time and, in turn, also help those across Northampton who are at their most vulnerable.

The Hope Centre is a Northampton based charity which has been supporting the homeless and those on low incomes for nearly 50 years.

Since the beginning of lockdown, demand on the charity has increased by three to four times and the kitchens are continually feeding hundreds of people each week. We also help to guide people off the streets by giving them the tools and skills they need to help rebuild their lives.

Tanya added: “Please do help us give the gift of Hope this Christmas by supporting Hope’s Christmas Fair. Stalls cost just £20 and all pitch fees will go towards helping those living in poverty in our community.” Email [email protected] or telephone 01604 214300 for more information on how to get involved.
