This Northamptonshire charity recently relaunched with a new name, and the team is proud to continue offering support to smaller organisations run by hard-working volunteers.
Tracy Whittaker-Smith has been a trustee at Give Northants for the past three years, and is excited for what the future holds for the charity under its third iteration.
Give Northants was originally established as Walk For Cause in 2007 and was later reshaped as Northants Community Aid in 2021, before the latest rebrand in March 2026.
With lots of new trustees on the team, they saw the ideal opportunity to change the name and take ownership of a new strategy to ensure the successful future of Give Northants.

“We’re aiming to bring Northamptonshire businesses together to support small charities we feel are doing important work,” said Tracy. “We help the smaller volunteer charities without access to larger funding. Our maximum grant is £2,000.
“There are different packages so businesses can offer their support – entry level, bronze, silver and gold. It’s a really simple way of supporting their local community and being part of something much bigger. We want to create a network of businesses and a community that cares.
“I’m really proud to be a trustee and in a position to give back to the local community, to support people and organisations doing important work where it is really needed.”
Crusader Community Boating was just one of the organisations that came along to the relaunch, and they shared how support means they can reach people further afield with additional needs. Their wellbeing support allows connections to be formed and safe spaces to be created for those who have experienced trauma.

Give Northants currently has 15-to-18 business supporters and they would like to grow this to 30 by the end of the year. The aim is to show businesses the impact their money will have on the ground, being utilised by those who really need it.
