A terminally-ill Northampton Town Football Club fan has been treated by the club's charitable arm with a visit from the Sky Bet League Two play-off trophy.
Long-time supporter Rowland Jordan was surprised as part of Northampton Town Community Trust's anti-loneliness programme to help elderly people who may be lonely, especially during the pandemic.

Hide AdHis son and fellow Cobblers follower, Scott, said: “It was brilliant to see my father with a smile on his face again.
"In February he was given six months to live and he is still here, he doesn’t get out of bed very much anymore but as soon as he saw that trophy he was straight out!
"It really did mean the world to him and I cannot thank them enough.”
Cobblers have played a big part in Rowland’s life.
He went to his first match at the County Ground in 1949 before he was even a year old and he carried on that tradition with Scott and his other son, Thomas.

Hide AdRowland himself played a big part in getting the Cobblers name out worldwide as he sponsored a team in Africa.
He also provided more than 300 Cobblers kits to people in the Gambia as well as kitting out the country's football association with referee kits from former pro Peter Walton.
