Take a sneak peek inside the brand-new M&S Foodhall opening tomorrow in Northampton

Chronicle & Echo photographer Kirsty Edmonds visited the new store on Tuesday, October 20 to take a first look inside ahead of its official opening tomorrow.

The brand-new M&S Foodhall is located at Riverside Retail Park, in the former Homebase unit.

The 16,000 sq ft store will offer the full M&S Food range, from everyday essentials to the latest product launches.

More than 70 new colleagues have been recruited to join the store team, including more than 10 through M&S’ Marks & Start employability scheme, which supports young people facing disadvantages in their job hunt.

Stuart Thomas, store manager at M&S Northampton Riverside, said: “The team and I are so excited. We have an amazing network of local suppliers in Northampton, including Greencore, and it’s brilliant to grow our footprint here, bringing more M&S Food to more customers.

“We want to help customers get everything for their weekly shop and it’s great to have the full M&S Food range, offering the exceptional quality and trusted value we’re known for. Not only that, but for those already feeling festive, customers can also now book their Christmas food to order collection slot for the store via the M&S app or website.”

Inside, customers can look forward to an in-store bakery and coffee counter serving barista-made takeaway hot drinks, bread and pastries, as well as a cheese barge, dedicated flower and wine shops and fresh produce from M&S select farm partners.

The store will also stock M&S’ Remarkable Value range, featuring more than 100 products price-benchmarked against key competitors, alongside larger-pack options designed to offer better value for families.

Customers will also be able to explore M&S’ range of organic products, following the retailer’s recent price reductions on more than 50 items, including carrots, lamb, pasta and potatoes.

Northampton Riverside is one of 18 new food stores M&S is opening this financial year as it works towards doubling the size of its food business by expanding its store footprint and becoming a shopping list retailer.

Customers can also book their Christmas food-to-order collection slot for the store through the M&S app or website.
