Animals in Need Northamptonshire charity hosted a festive Christmas dog walk on Sunday December 21 at Bradlaugh Fields in Northampton.

Around 100 dogs and dozens of owners turned up for the popular annual event to help raise vital funds for the charity this Christmas.

Charity boss Annie Marriott said: “It was amazing – there were easily around 100 dogs there. There were about 10 dogs from the kennels and all the greyhounds went. I took Bill the lurcher, who desperately needs a home – he’s such a lovely boy. We had a really good walk around and lots of chat at the end. All the dogs behaved and it didn’t rain, hurrah. On the day itself it raised £720, and Nathan Watson (dog behaviour specialist) had already given us £700 from the previous few weeks’ walks because he walks there every Saturday as well. So £1,420 raised in total – fantastic. That will go towards Christmas heating bills to keep the dogs nice and cosy.”

Annie added: “We are so thankful to Nathan, Lisa and all the walkers.”
