Emergency services were called after the fire alarm was triggered at the Sorrentino restaurant. Smoke was also reportedly seen coming out of the Mediterranean restaurant's vent.

Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue has now confirmed the incident was a false alarm after smoke from Sorrentino's next-door neighbour, Northampton Best Kebab, entered the restaurant's vent system.

Sorrentino's was closed at the time of the incident, and opens at 4pm on a Monday.
